I just installed a GPS speedometer on 2006 Sabre. Even tho the Lowrence GPS has a mph reading, I got tired of watching the old-style water pickup speedometer that is not as accurate. I also like the recall switch on the new speedometer. Switch installed under the dash; flip the switch one direction and it will show your highest mph for the day. Flip it the other direction and it zeros the speedometer off. The unit is extremely accurate and a beautiful gauge. The attached photo shows the speedometer with the recall mph.

Neat gauge. Another option for others wanting to omit the practically useless pitot speedo would be a Mercmonitor. Assuming you have a smartcraft capable Mercury, it is a direct fit in the speedo cutout and is plug and play with the motor. It shows all motor info (water pressure, block temp, rpms, motor hours, fuel used, trim level, gal per hour, miles driven, alarm diagnostics and more). It can be linked with console graph via NMEA to show GPS info. One of the best accessories I added to the boat.http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt … =0&ndsp=27

I have $296.00 in the Speedometer and $215.00 in the receiver kit which includes the antenna. New speedometer fits right in the same place as old unit. you can go on Auto meters web sight and they have a number of different color bezels for gauges. I purchased everything from CP performance out of Calif.My next 3 gauges are going to be the Water psi,fuel and Tach gauge to match the new speedometer. And the speedometer I purchased is a composite dial or face on it.

Dan:I dont thank the gauge you are using would work on my motor, wish that gauge would work but my motor is an XR6 150 that is carberator no computer. Duane

Like merc monitor. Will display motor parameters on Lowrance and dont have to look around at different gauges
