All this stuff about chining, rooster tail, and motor height is foriegn to me. My first performance bass boat, I can tell u what I experienced today and any info is welcome. Passengers 300 lbs, half full livewells, 900 elevation, full of gear, 08 Puma, YammieVZ250, VMacs 25 T1 Prop. Hole shot was great for such a big boat, WOT – GPS 72 MPH @ 5600 RPM, No chining at all, motor trimmed all the way up and down a little no steering torgue, rooster tail some above the cowl but when I came down with the motor it was about level and still no torgue. Boat held the nose high ,trimmed up, at 25 to 29 mph for when the big rollers come. 50 mph @ 3800 RPM, not much tail and no torgue. My slidemaster is flush. This sounds long winded but I thought it did great for all I know. ThanxLast edited by tschooler1956 on January 12th, 2009, 1:52 am, edited 1 time in total.
