OK, since Im waiting I got time to kill and do more reading/researching. What all data is displayed with these gauges? Sherm ran through this with me but already forgot The big question I have is Im assumming there is a “standard” amount of data that is provided but more is available with the appropriate sensors added? Motor is a Merc if that matters…Just curious what it can do as well as capable of.

Gives just about all the engine data you could want. Simply toggle through the screens. You can keep up to 3 things on the screen that you would like to monitor at one time and toggle to others that are set up. Fairly easy to use, but def. enough data for me.Hope that helps. See the manual on this website for all the details.

Has the case been made for Mercury Smartcraft v/s the NexSyslink?

It will give you fuel economy. The most important function to me is it will give alarms and codes for engine problems. Mercury Smartcraft vs. NexSyslink is 6 one way half a dozen another. The NexSys gauges are easier to see in daylight hours and smartcraft is a little more user friendly. The NexSys gauges will allow you to see multiple variables at one time where smartcraft wont allow but two and these are preprogrammed.

One of the benefits to the Mercury MercMonitor is that the user can select 3 pieces of data they wish to display, and then do that for up to 5 screens. Its also a good bit cheaper than the SmartCraft gauges.My understanding, though, is Bass Cat doesnt offer it…and Im sure there must be some kind of reason

There are ten screen variations that you program nine of. The default is five screens standard and then you can change those. The toggling through the screens will give you the data in the order you prefer. One neat feature is the alarm code for low fuel. It works pretty well. NexSysLink is only reading the data on the SmartCraft system. At first power up you will notice the SmartCraft icon.
