Im about to buy an 09 Cougar FTD and want to build a building to store it. Whats the width of the boat on the trailer. What size building should I build to fit the boat with the motor in the trailering position with the swing away tongue extended? Thanks!

26 deep with a door at least 10 wide would be the minimum that I would build. If I could have what I wanted it would be 100 x 100! LOL!

Remember you gotta have a pretty straight shot to get it in on 10 doors. Over about a 30 degree approac makes it interesting. I had a 10X30 for 4 years that I kept a p4 in. I love my new unit with 14 doors.C.O.D. Jr. III

Ward This is good info. Were still working out the location of the building and I may not have a straight shot into it. Thanks for sharing your experience w/ the 10`door.

I have a 31 X 32 garage my friend keeps his Cougar in. The garage door is 18 X 8. The 8 high door is nice as you dont have to trim down to clear the bracket on the door opener. Just a thought, you may want to look into the taller door, it wasnt that much more than a 7 door. The opener may be a few bucks higher too.

Yes, and lots of equipment or tractors will not go in a standard 6 8″ door header, though sub 8 they will. BCB
