We had 27 boats enter the touranment, and the event was won by BassCat owner Roger Hackman and James Hensley with 13.14 pounds, I will post the full results as well as the prizes we were able to give away due to the generous charitable donations to the event from multiple local businesses including BassCat Boats. And last but most certainly not least, we were able to take around 15 Olympians out on short trips in our boats. A few Olympians had the opportunity to drive a 30+ foot cruiser boat, the smiles on their faces. There were many greats stories about Olympians catches, 1 woman casted, hooked, and reeled in a keeper KY which was no small feat on a tough day on the Rock. Another man I met, Joe Ryals, hooked a really nice brownie, over 4 pounds, unnoticed by the Olympian, and asked her to hold his pole for a minute while he got something from down in his boat. She then told Joe she was hung up, and he said just try to reel it in. Well, after a great fight, this huge brownie tail walked at the boat and came unhooked, but the woman ended up being happy she didnt have to touch the fish.I was able to take two Olympians fishing myself, Brittany and Susan. I had a great time on both outings, but the fish didnt want to play along while fishing with Brittany; we were only able to catch two fish on that outing. But then came Susan, we started out slow but after Susan boated about the 3rd fish she told me, one day I caught 7. I told Susan, today you are going to catch 10. The good Lord blessed us and I was able to assist Susan in boating 10 fish in our 45 minute trip. She was excited, but I can tell you it meant every bit as much to me as it did to her.Full results and details of the prizes to come. Dont miss out on this next year; I can tell you it is going to grow.Last edited by Fishin Hodge on September 23rd, 2013, 8:19 pm, edited 1 time in total.
