Looking for advice. I presently own a 2016 PII w/ 200 proXS. This is my 8th PII. All have run relatively close to the same speed 72-74 (with my 2011 running 75.8). I currently run 73 with a Fury3 25p @ 5600 RPMs in this Louisiana heat, and 71.8 with a TrophyPlus 25p at 5600. I really like the ride and lift of the TrophyPlus as the Fury3 just runs so flat throughout the power curve. My question, should I drop to a TrophyPlus 24p or a Fury4 24p or 25p to get the RPMs up to 5750 as recommended during the summer. I know I can run the 25p in cooler months and have the RPMs where recommended. Any PII owners running a Fury4 24p or 25p and can give their likes/dislikes with the prop. Not chasing the rabbit anymore, just want great handling and recommended performance. Thanks in advance. Gerard
My 13 p2 runs nearly those exact numbers with the 25 3fury. My only real complaint is the midrange and lack of lift. One member on this board likes his new bravo 1 xs on his sabre. Problem for me like you im sure is paying high $$$ for a prop and it being the wrong pitch . So im watching this post as well.
Had my p2 out this morning full tank fuel but by myself and the humidity was 95 percent got up to 73.4 quit looking at the rpm around 5650 and I had bow lift out the wazoo. I run a 25 fury that’s probably a 24.5 reworked by Marks props. I know they say Basscat’s don’t need much lift but I want lift. The boat feels better to drive for me with some lift. It don’t feel like it’s dragging.i also have a 24 trophy but this 24.5 fury is rite for me. Great hole shot and plenty of lift. You mite want to check out Marks props. This p2 is 2017 and the speeds are gps.
I have a 2016 PII dual console. 24 volt TM system with Twin Power poles.I have a 24 Fury 4 that runs 70.5 at 5700. The bow lift at low speeds is much better than the 24 Fury 3.It also has better acceleration (Which I believe is due to its ability to get the bow up quick) I am still playing with engine height. Im finding it wants to run deeper than the Fury 3.Hole shot is very good, but does have more bow lift. The Fury 3 comes out the hole with the bow lower.Last time I had it out, I was running a tight curvy bayou near my house. It handle great, Stayed flat with no side hopping. I still have some fine tuning, but really like the prop.As stated, the Fury 3 will lift the bow, but needs more speed to do it.
Im watching the post as well. I recently bought a 2018 P2 with a 200 ProXS. I want to buy a 2nd prop since the Florida heat and humidity kill your performance in the summer. RPMs fluctuate a bunch as well between our winter and summer months. Mine came with a 25p Fury. One question I have is has anyone messed with jackplate heights? I currently have mine at the factory setting and am getting 5500 to 5600 RPM and 71.4mph with 2 people, empty live wells and 1/2 a tank of fuel and full gear. Im wondering if raising the motor an 1 inch or so will help speed. My water pressure is in the mid 20s
We dont have enough input on the Fury 4 on a 200 as we have not really left the earlier combinations. We didnt try the combination last year at meeting and we dont knw the operation range of performance. We do know the Trophy propeller is a very consistent and dependable wheel that is frequently overlooked with the popularity and broad operation range of the Fury 3.
Everyone, thanks for the replies. I love the lift the Trophy Plus (25p) gives through-out the power range and am willing to give up that last 2mph for the better ride and handling. Rick suggested the Trophy Plus when I picked my 2011 at the plant and he was right regarding lifting the hull (especially mid-range thru top-end). I have no trouble getting another Trophy Plus (24p) for summer running. Just wanted everyones thoughts on other props (there are so many) for the PII/200proXS combo before spending additional money on another propeller. Also, wanted everyones thoughts on getting the additional RPMs for summer running (5750 vs 5500-5600).
A 25 trophy ran pretty good on my sons p2. He did stay with the 25 fury. I run a 25 fury. Speeds 72-74+ depending on temp, load and water. Going up will help speed a little, but the fury likes to run deeper. If I go up, I loose rough water handling and handling in curves(hopping in curves). Im running pretty much flush on the plates. An inch up seems a little much, If you decide to go up or down for that matter go 1/4 inch at a time max. I would go 1/8 at a time. A little goes a long way. I think a lot of this hooking we hear about like at the Sabine last weekend is from folks running too high and loosing the prop bite. Nothing good happens after you loose the prop bite.
Im a bit more than a 1/4 below flush with the Fury 4.
After talking with Paul Rossi I moved my plate from 1/4″ below flush to 1/4″ above. Improved handling and Im not dealing with hard to control chine walk. Just have a bit of pressure on the wheel. I like how it handles and I dont need as much trim. Mines a Classic (old version) 200 Opti 26Fury 3. Only other difference I found is I need to delay trimming up during hole shot to avoid blowing out but its still just as fast out of the hole. Just have to drive a little differently.
