Yes, this is me being a smart @$$, but this is one happy day for me…..so far. This was the only way I knew how to get rid of MY motorguide issues. Fishing a tournament this weekend, well see what I think.JP
You want be disappointed !!! I once had that same problem. LOL
Just wondering will my Deans cover fit over the Fortrex? What has other done that switched to the Fortrex?
I did this on my P4 and I had to get a new cover. The Fortrex sits much higher. Im glad I did it though.
JPeesy,You are not being a smart $#s. You are accurately describing the current issues some of us have encountered as of late. I share your MG frustration. Once I spoke with a rep from MG and told him MG has 24 hours to make a decision before I built a website named http://www.dontbuyamotorguice.xxx, they replaced the unit. Never installed it–looked like the same thing that was already disappointing. I have purchased the Fortrex. It was a little challenge to install. I understand there are die hard MG lovers. If you happen to be one, I have one for sale under the Props board. Make me an offer. 75# Tour Edition, 24V, 45″ shaft. Have not had a single inquiry on it. In all honesty, I am a little afraid to sell it cause I dont want any hard feelings from the buyer unless they understand up front it may be a substandard unit. It looks like the word may be out on MG.Carky
Good deal man. Glad to see you have resolved your TM issues. Now get out there and get some tight lines.- Chaz
I have a 2011 PII with a piece of sh!t Motorguide. I will not stop until BCB replaces this TM with a Minn Kota. I have already broken 2 pull cords. And the 3rd is about gone. The side to side slap is horrible. I cant deploy or retract the unit without an act of GOD. I took my boat to a certified MG repair shop today. He has been is business for over 35 years. And, his exact quote “yours is on the extreme bad side if what I have seen. MG does not have a “known” fix. Just a few bandaid suggestions.” BCB will need to step up and fix this ASAP. I will not put another MG on my boat or any half-ass fix on this boat. If BCB does not do the right thing, I will sell this boat and go back to Ranger. I bought this boat based on the overwhelming information on BCBs customer service. I know that MG is a vendor of BCB, but this is also a extension of the BCB product and name…….we will see.
How in Gods name are you going to blame BCB for a product thats not theirs!? Thats your fault for getting a MG on your rig in the first place. BCB will cover the boat issues, and IF they cover the TM thats just going above and beyond. Nothing they owe you. Whats with the “Im entitled” attitude? Thats just rediculous. Thats like blamikng them for your motor going bad. If its that new get with MG and get your money back from them. Im pretty sure NO boat company would do what youre demanding.- Chaz
I sure dont know what you guys are doing to your Motor Guides. Ive had them on every boat Ive owned other than one and have never had any issues with them at all. The only trolling motor I ever had a problem with was the Minnkota I had on another brand of boat I made the mistake of buying.
I actually love my 2011 Tour 75. No issues at all. I have owned MK in the past and had nothing but issues. The last two MGs I have owned have been trouble free. No way you can blame BCB for a TM issue. I would contact your dealer.
