Help with Fayette county lake in Texas

Anyone have any reconmendations on where to launch and fish. Maybe a recent fishing report. Thanks

Fished there last Saturday. Lots of small fish, larger ones a little harder to find. This was my fist time there in over 20 years. There are only two launches, Oak Thicket and Park Prairie Park.

As stated above there are only 2 ramps to lauch at. Oak thicket is more protected but is a bit smaller of a ramp. Park prairie is much bigger as far as the parking lot. I will be out there tomorrow most of the day. This weekend there is a kids unlimited tournament with around 40 boats so it will be crowded. The patterns that i have been doing well with the last month have been early topwaters around the reeds. Once the sun comes up the deeper patterns are working well with swimbaits, shakeyheads, and drop-shots. When the topwater bite turns off we have been catching decent fish around the dike, discharge, and intake. Also the dam has been producing for us as well. If you have any question let me know. I fish it a couple times a month for the most part. I have also seen plenty of fish come from flipping hte reeds all over the lake. I usually stay in the deeper water. The dam is always good. Fish around 12 deep. The reeds at oak thicket are also very good. Great lake

Try an Oldhams football head jig, the color #36 is really awesome there, it is called green pumpkin blue magic, but i think the bass think that it is a little Talapia scooting along the bottomIt works really well on Travis too

hey i just read a blog by Alton Jones on the Bassmaster page about Fayette, you may want to read it, and apparently he is doing a day on the lake there in December, that is going to be cool, Fayette is on fire in December and January

Fished fayette today from sun up till about 130 until the wind blew us off the lake. We caught 25 fish in all. The clounds were a nice change and the topwater bite was awesome. We fishes onteh backside of hog point for most of the day due to the 20 to 30 mph winds. We ended up going to a 1/4 oz football head shakeyhead jig with a watermelon red trick worm and finished out our day in hte trees in 10 to 15 feet of water. We tried the dam but got tired of fighting the wind so we called it a day. The Kids unlimited tournament is still on for tomorrow. It will be crowded but there is still plenty of water. The tournament is also going to be down before noon becaue they have a bbq for lunch. Good luck out there. Tight Lines and Good Fishinghttp://www.demonrods.com/
