While I know from experience that Bass Cat Boats are of the highest of quality, it is usually better to use a tire designed specifically for trailers on your boat trailer. That goes without saying that you certainly can use a passenger tire on trailers where the specs meet the requirements of the application if you prefer. Below are a few reasons why ST tire is better to use on a trailer than a P tire.- ST tires feature materials and construction to meet the higher load requirements and demands of trailering.- The polyester cords are bigger than they would be for a comparable P tire.- The steel cords have a larger diameter and greater tensile strength to meet the additional load requirements.- ST tire rubber compounds contain more chemicals to resist weather and ozone cracking.As stated above, a P tire can be used if you prefer, but in general, its usually better to apply a product specifically designed for the use in question.
