StarTron for Ethanol

I was reading in my Bass Master magazine and ran across this. It is StarTron fuel treatment for ethanol. Has anyone tried this or knows anything about this product. I use quickleen and havent had any problems yet but last month when fishing the McDonalds tourney i gassed up one day and a couple of times on take off it did sound as though it missed a couple of times just briefly. My brother had his brother in-law fill his boat the next day and the next morning his boat would crank but would shutdown when he went to take off. He found alot of water in his tank and ruined his day.If someone wants to look into this item you can go to http://www.startron.com

I have used Startron in my Merc 200 EFI for years now w/ no problems. I use quickleen and Startron together.

I would not use it to replace Leen…..We use it when engines are having issues due to ethanol and it is just short of a miracle product. Just last night I had some seperated fuel in a small engine so I added the Startron and some fresh gas and cleaned things up a bit and got it running again smoothly and quickly. That said you could use it along with the Leen but I would stay with Mercurys recommendations whenever possible. I would also use of course Marine Stabil to keep what is in your tank together……We use Startron in Wheelers, Lawnmowers, Golf Carts, Go Carts, Wood chippers, Snowmobiles, Tractors, Automobiles, Outboards, Chainsaws, Trimmers and many other 2 and 4 stroke motors with great success…….and I do not sell nor work for that company……

I have been using in my 2000 Cougar with 225 EFI for about 2 years now and the boat has set up on three or more occasions for 2 to 3 months at a time and I have had no problems. Fished last Saturday in Central Mississippi and had to do a little running from time to time during the day just to cool down and it ran beautifully with never a cough or hiccup. Mike

Used it the past two years with Yamaha ring free in my engines. Never had an ethanol or fuel water separation issue. Great product.

Is this a same as competing product Stabil-Blue? I buy Stabil Blue because its easily available. If there is a prudent reason to use Star-Tron I will consider this product.

I have been using the StaBil blue as well and it seems to work great.

I recently started using it in conjunction with ring free due to the increase locally of ethanol. I believe it stabilizes as well and it costs a bit less than stabil blue. I cant swear by it but I havent sworn at it either. It seems to do its job well enough.
