The AOI standings are getting tighter as well. From BassFan:After Muskogee, the Top 12 in the points move on to fish the BASS post-season, while the Top 37 receive a guaranteed berth in the 2011 New Orleans Bassmaster Classic. After the regular season ends, BASS “simplifies” the points by moving the decimal points one place to the left and rounding to the nearest whole number. Two bonus points are also awarded for the win. If the season ended today, the Top 12 points would thus look like this: 1. Skeet Reese — 186 (includes 4 bonus points) 2. Edwin Evers — 176 3. Derek Remitz — 167 4. Brian Snowden — 162 5. John Crews — 163 (includes 2 bonus points) 6. Terry Butcher — 161 7. Cliff Pace — 160 8. Kevin VanDam — 152 (includes 2 bonus points) 9. Aaron Martens — 154 10. Greg Hackney — 153 11. Bill Lowen — 151 12. Gary Klein — 151 Points for the two post-season events are awarded on a scale of 5-point increments based on finish – 50 points for a win, 10 points for 12th.Although that last statement is not accurate. Thinking they must change the point increments after 5 spots or so if 50 points are 1st place and 10 points are 12th. Either way the 2 post season events in Alabama look to be interesting. Especially if Reese continues to prove he is human after all this week. There for a while it looked like Reese would be taking AOI victory laps at the Alabama events.
