Question about battery install on P2

Installed a new battery tray, driver side bilge on the flat area next to where my oil reservoir is mounted. Probably just being paranoid but thought maybe noticed more gas smell from bilge area this am. Gas tank is completely under seats, correct? No way I could have drilled into anything holding gas in that area, I hope……

If there are dual tanks you would have a 10 gallon in the rear, otherwise it is not really something you could do. It could be the clips pop off the pickups, ethanol deterioration or most anything causing it.

Another question…Im adding battery for 36 volt trolling motor and noticed on mine and other Basscat that there is a 50 amp breaker between each battery in the series. I asked boat shop if that was necessary and they said you really only need one breaker on the positive line coming into battery one of the series. What is the purpose of the breakers between batteries in the series? Is it protecting each battery?
