It is mid May and the annual dealers meeting to announce what will be the latest and greatest for BCB is not that far off. For a company that thinks outside the box what do you think will be on the horizon that will be to be presented to us? I have a few thoughts in my head but would like to hear what others may think that will be brought to the forefront or wish to see.
You got my attention.
This should be interesting…

Wishing for same as past years but doubt it will be presented….A regular Puma or Eyra with front deck 6″ wider, with a removable floor panel and TM pedal on rails that you could slide back and forth 12″ from its present position while on the water, and with consoles that have side pockets for rod tips 3″ wide x 8″ deep.
Hoping this year is the year of my “Obama Boat” If others can get cell phones why cant I get a new boat.
I will say to BassCats credit we wont know a thing until dealer meeting announcements. So to that end “oh snap” is put on the back burner.

Its way too early to assume anything. We have almost three (2.5) months left in the 2013 model year, the remains of May, June and July. With orders on the books into June and dealers having extremely little product now left on their floors. At best it will be August 8th before any limited volume number of 2014 models hit dealership sales floors, thus being nearly 3 months from right now. Most of you know we have not released new model year (2014) production boats until after August 1st for at least two decades solid, complying with USCG regulations. In 2014 the USCG has insinuated heavy enforcement of the August 1 regulation for model year release. The regulation has been in existence since 1973 and updated in 1976. In 2014 the USCG division that oversees boat builders has indicated they will enforce compliance with model year regulations at the retail level. It was indicated there would be a penalty and fine of $10,000 per unit (boat) which is found to be on dealership floor or lots prior to August First (1st – 8/1/2014). And they perhaps will give some leniency within a reasonable few days of 8/1/14. To be quite honest, we welcome a bit of compliance enforcement here as early releases we have seen slip back further each year, with us noticing some new model year product in use as early as April in recent years. Some brands are more open than others. As much as everyone likes to see the new model years, it should be on the date given to protect ownership values, dealership inventory values, customer bank values and more. After larger financial institution management begins seeing 2014 model years they instantly depreciate the existing new inventory. Which meant for us your boat has not been delivered and the bank considered it aged, while we were in compliance with the regulations. Hope this helps all to see more than just whats new and why we feel it is way too early to assume with there being three (3) months before any new product really hits the shelves. I look for some type of “passenger restraint” system(bar/belt) in the future. I see its use.I look for a “wet deck” area for flipping bass into the boat without effecting the health of the fish. I see “pop out” rubrail cleats for use in lockage. Perhaps polymer bars that pop out and twist vertically into position.Onboard camera systems, IPhone based.I get the feeling P.A. will have the best looking 2014 made.I also get the feeling we wont know diddly until after the meeting,,,,,duh.
