Can anyone provide info on this lake, wnat to take a trip mid October and thought about heading south. I know the lake level is down like most Texas lakes?Treat everyday like it might be the last

Frogs in the grass early, as the day progresses move to the edge of grass with Lizards (Watermelon Red). Lipless cranks-baits producing numbers as well. Last week in 98 degrees, we had a 10.33, 9.3, 7.97, and a few 6#s. Took 31 pounds to win our small tournament.

Ive never fished Choke Canyon, but if I was going that direction I would call in sick a few extra days and swing by Falcon. It is really unbelievable!

I have thought about heading on down to Falcon but not sure I really want to spend the extra time driving, only going to be able to scratch out 4 days total and Choke should be close enough I can sneak in half day on both ends.If I go on down to Falcon I would loose the two half days and only get two days on the water.Last edited by LUVTOFISH.basscatowners on September 26th, 2011, 6:16 pm, edited 1 time in total.Treat everyday like it might be the last

Not sure about Choke but from my experience i would rather have 2 days on Falcon than 4 on any other lake i have been on! Its that good!

I dont know about that one, Falcon has been off the charts ALL SUMMER! Here is a kicker, the San Antonio Metro tournament is the first weekend of October (8 & 9 I think), so if youre heading down that time FORGET finding a place to stay. I believe the lake is off limits the weekend prior. Im taking a wounded soldier cat-fishing on next weekend to Choke, its a toss-up. Im planning on heading to Falcon sometime soon. Would love to Flyswatter there with his Eyra (hint, hint), but well see. Either choice, I think youve got a chance to catch some decent fish.

If you want a guide for the day let me know. My long time friend and hunting buddy knows them both well. He weighed in a 5 fish 45lb stringer on Choke in a Bass Champs event a few years back. He has had several double digit bass the last two months on Falcon as well.

Fished both Choke and Falcon many times and if the only thing holding you back from Falcon is the extra 2 hour drive then youre making a mistake not going to Falcon. The two lakes are not even close.

just when I thought I had my mind made up, Will talk with Dad and see if he thinks he is up for the journey. I would really like to get dad on a big fish before he can no longer get out and around. May just have to swing for the fences and hit Falcon.Any suggestions on where to stay?are the waters marked clear enough to stay in US waters if we dont get a Mexico liscense, or do we need to fish the southern side to be in the right place?Treat everyday like it might be the last
