Topic: Is this a SCAM, input please

I listed my Eyra for sale on the board and get an e-mail from a gut in the UK who wants the boat ASAP, and is willing to pay full asking price and wants to do the deal as quickly as possible. Noe the boat is being financed, cuz I didnt plan on selling her, so any transactions would have to go through them first, but this smells a little”fishy” to me. I know many of you have sold boats here, so has this happened to any of you before, and if so, is it in fact a SCAM??Seems to me if a guy had the money to buy this boat and have it shipped to the UK, he could just as soon buy a new one there, as Im sure transport isnt cheap.Thanks for any input.

Im sure its a scam. Then again my buddy sold his PIV to a guy in Japan. A inporter from CA did the deal, my buddy checked out the inporter and he did a wire transfer right to his bank, I told him at that time that I thought it was a scam but the deal went through, Inporter came to Albuquerque NM and picked up the boat a month later.

My guess is its a scam, guess you never know though. My guess is when I tell him the boat wont move until the funds are cleared and legit, I wont hear from him again.

STAY AWAY…SCAM..SCAM…SCAM…This is one of the oldest internet scams going.

I had the same thing done to me a few years ago. Trust me it is a scam.

Sounds like a scam,The fact that he wants to do the deal fast would sound alarm bells for me.I purchased a boat from this very site…. I live in Australia! Fortunately the seller wasnt in a hurry, we exchanged emails for close to 6 months before the deal was completed.Proceed with caution.Pat
