This was a very close race to call but GPS was the agreed measure at the end. Doug McGees BassCat Puma bested a good fishing buddies baddest Triton boat. His buddy stated he had never been beaten or passed by any BassCat boat until today. Although, very close Dougs BassCat Puma got the edge. You can see the results on BBC LA Fishing Club forum. Lets just say BassCats Puma FTD and 250HO Etec was witnessed and declared the winner vs. Tritons biggest and baddest ride with 250ProXs by this fun and crazy Louisiana group. All was done in good spirit. Way to go Doug and BassCat. I think whats impressive are the speeds by both boats in 82° weather with 30 plus gallons of fuel, full livewells (Dougs Boat). Doug hit 81.3 mph on the GPS and the Triton 20X Boat was at 81.2 on the GPS. There were no Slip Calculators at the runnoff. LOL! What surprised his buddies was their assumption that the BassCat Puma and Etec would only do 78 at best before they did their run. They came away very impressed by both BassCat and Etec Engine performance. Congrats! Great run Doug with a very impressive BassCat strong hull. You did us BassCatrs proud! I think this is the correct site: http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zerothre … se-to-call misr12
I read that over there today. Great runs for both boats. Its pretty neat to have a big, fully loaded bass boat with the kind of weight they are carrying around running in the 80s. Gotta love it. Im going to try to hook up with those boys soon and see if I cant put a little surprise in there with my old Classic. I really want to run, or just ride in one of the 2009 hulls. From what I here they are just amazing as far as the ride goes. Chris Coupel Paulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

yeah Phil the Puma with the 250 Merc was the boat out front taking the pictures..LOL Johnny
If any would have showed they would have got the same treatment as the others! We doing it again in 2 weeks if there are any takers!I didnt start the post wasnt ebven gonna post here but i think those black ones can get a big suprise if they show.
I will bring my 09 Puma FTD with the 250 Mercury ProXs just for kicks and giggles. If I whip ya I can say, “wow, I sure am glad I bought the right motor.” If you whip me, I can say, Dad gum it, shoot, heck, darn it (or similar words), I knew I should have bought the Evinrude!!!!” Sounds like you guys had a great time and the comraderie sounds like a lot of fun. Did you have as good of a hole shot as the Triton? Was the Triton running a 36 volt trolling motor with four batteries? I hope my boat comes in soon. My symptoms of Nobasscatinthegarageitis grow even more severe as time passes, even with the new medications. I am hoping for a quick cure within the next few weeks. Your Evinrude powered Bass Cat sounds like a great machine. Take care of her and keep having fun. Corky
I would like to see another head to head test with tournament loads except add a 20 to 25 mph wind with an opposing tide like we saw yesterday on the Potomac.I run a 02 Jag w/ a Merc 250xb , faster than most ,slower than some but NOBODY passes me when things get snotty.
kbgfish, do you use a 4 blade or 3 blade prop for those conditions? Curious on how you run in those waters. kbgfish wrote: I would like to see another head to head test with tournament loads except add a 20 to 25 mph wind with an opposing tide like we saw yesterday on the Potomac.I run a 02 Jag w/ a Merc 250xb , faster than most ,slower than some but NOBODY passes me when things get snotty.
misr12, I run a trophy 27 4 blade all the time but I may go with a Fury in the future , I have heard that they get a better holeshot and my Jaguar digs one hell of a hole with a tourney load
