i need some help, bow fishfinder unit shuts off when starting engine, my cranking battery was purchased in july of 08 its a sears group 31 only used 6 months out of the year so i doubt the battery is shot, so im thinking its a fuse or breaker that has a bad connection or something like that, anyone have this problem any help would be great Ryan

It is youre battery more than likely, sorry. It isnt handling the amperage of the engine starting without losing power during the start up. Battery or connections, one or other.

I was on Beaver recently and noticed mine is doing the exact same thing. I recently did an update from Lowrance and thought that may have something to do with it. On my third cranking battery this year. Everything else seemed to work fine.

Petjr, Yours and rydogggs both could be from a poor conection. BCB has recomended in the past that if you have this problem to run new wires from the battery up through the bilge all the way up the center of the boat to the front graph. But it could also be a weak battery.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I ran new wires from the bow to my acc button on my touch pad. Cured the problem.
