How do you find a leak

Ok here it is when i first got my Used PII i knew i would have little things here and there Finally im going to get Hydraulic Steering had Some leaks with the livewells getting new Dash panel and New seats . After all that it will be like brand new with one exception . I have a leak somewhere i read on here where alot of people dont ever pull the hull plug out but when i do i have water coming out . Now went to lake 2 weeks ago rented boat slip went to bed got up next day got in boat thought i better turn on bilge to check and see if i have any water in it . Nothing no water pumping out but i went and fished and when i loaded it up There is the water . How do i find where this is coming in at and could it be something with when i go down the lake it is getting in there . Not coming over the back of the transom either >. HELP its not bad but i need to find it !!

Put water in the bilge and when you pull it out of the water look for a leak if you cant physically see the leakage.

tried that that is how i found the first one around the livewell inlets . Can i bring it to the BCB plant and them look at it and maybe just leave it for a week and get the other things done to it ???

mine does the same but only when i have the livewell set at auto and full. Any ideas?

i have even turned them off and still does it makes me wonder if i may have a crack in the hull or something

It would be very, very rare for a crack in the hull. That is the least of our concern, and while you could have one, we doubt it.

well that makes me feel Better !! So how do i go about getting up to you and getting it looked at and have hydraulic steering put on and new dash ???

I get water when I open the plug but it is cool so I know its of melted ice from the ice chest.

every time i get ready to make a run i cut my bilge on and pump out a gallon or 2 but only after i put the livewell to auto and fill it.

That much? Not sure what time frame you are talking about before making a run but since you cant hear of see it flowing my guess is it would be a slow leak.I have done work tracing flows in storm and sanitary sewers using a die that is bright green when put in water. That wopuldnt work in a livewell cuase it would turn all the water green. I wonder if there is something you could add to a full livewell that would not diffuse readily and let it sit still for a period of time that it would tell you where water is going out. Time for an internet search.
