Ive bought a 93 Pantera 2 with a Powerlift Jackplate on it that doesnt work. I was wondering if it was possible to just remove the pump from the side and the hydraulic cylinder from inside the plate was possible, and if by removing this stuff, it actually was then as a manual Jackplate. I took it to a basscat dealer to have a starter replaced, and have them to move the motor up and they had told me that moving the motor was very hard to do with the pump and cylinder in place…. And they sure wasnt very informative on my best option. So Im thankful for this site that a rookie like myself can ask questions. Any information or advice on this issue is helpful, because Im still gonna hae to move the motor some more to tweak the proper height. Thanks Guys.

I am not positive on this, but look underneath the Jo, and see if there are large nuts on the bottom of yoke.

thanks scuba, but i was told by the dealership that these were obsolete and there wasnt any replacement parts available. I this isnt true, that would be awesome, because my first choice would be to put it back the way it was intended. Ive even seen gauges that came on some of these to tell you where the height was from the console. Finding someone in my area that knows something about these units and how to repair is the challenge I guess.

I would scrap the whole thing and look around for a used 6″ manual plate.

We doubt it I worth fixing, though it is worth taking apart and assessing, or trying to repair, for a do-it-your-selfer.
