Nexsyslink Gauges and SHO

Do the nexsyslink gauges link up with the SHO? I am leaning toward the SHO but would like the info and look of the new gauges.

They do link up to the SHO, though some function signals are NMEA 0183 and are not compatible to NMEA 2000 and may require a bridge to the network for some items. Most are compatible with the Mercury Smart Craft on that system, as that is a Mercury proprietary licensed protocal. We have had no issues on the compatibility with NexSysLink and Yamaha other than some would like a fuel flow Gallons Used. We have the GPH on the system we believe. The Recall features are really cool on the NexSys system which pull up the last MPH and RPM max numbers for setup. The must be zeroed to retrieve a new set. There are also nice things on the rotating LCD dial face as you can view three functions at one time in the sequence you program these. There are 10 rotating windows, that you can program 9 of those windows in your sequence preference.

BassCat, I like to add my perspective about NexSysLinks “recall” function from my SHO experience. With NSLs recall prm you can accurately record your best rpms and speed for each 1/4″ to 1/2″ increment on the jack plate. I personally used 1/4″ increments. This is a really cool feature because you can keep you eyes in front of you for added safety, not worry about being distracted looking for those small digital number on the gauge at WOT. Just run it hard and check out those numbers after your WOT run. What a convenient tool. Its one of the more functional tools I”ve used with digital gauges. Just my two cents.Gotta ask. Are there additional functions available if you add a NMEA protocol bridge like Actisense NGW-1? If there is Ill for SHO pursue that avenue. Id like to add MPG functionality.Overall great gauges and they look awesome mounted in BassCats console.

Flyswatter, The features in the Manual on the NexSysLink pdf in the drop down menu are all that would be able to be read. They had considered more windows to 15 possibly beyond the 10 windows now. That has not yet been done. The pdf is different than the manual you have on the gauges for personal use in your black satchels.

With some reflection I do have to say Im a bit disappointed I gave up my Command Link MPG fuel flow functionality. For whatever reasons I dont think this will be actualized with NSL and NMEA2000 motors. I would consider Actisense NGW-1 bridge if this would allow nmea0183 to hand shake with nmea2000 protocols. Is this a dead end at this time?
