Topic: Deans Covers? for BCB

I checked deans website and it says the covers have a 5 year warranty? Would I need to contact deans directly or go thru my dealer? If I have to go through a dealer can I use my local dealer vs. the one I bought the boat at? Deans website says that all basscat orders must be made thru the dealer, just wondering about who warranties them, the dealer or BassCat and what the turn around time on them is? Is it safe to assume that one cover for a P4 should fit another P4 with no issues, or would you need boat ID #? The reason is due to the cover is leaking in multiple spots generally around where all the seams are, the area where the additional stiching over the console is leaking the most. The cover is 2 years old this past june, and the leaking has been getting progressively worse. Any help would be appreciated, or let me know if I need to call parts/service in the AM. First off Deans warranties the covers, you can go direct if you want on repairs I believe but I am sure your dealer or BCB would help you too if you preferred. Secondly, here is something that I found on an older canvas cover…take bow string wax and rub it into the threads and it will prevent the seam from leaking. Dont glob it on just rub it down the stitching and that will fix most cases. Seams are always a good place for leaks regardless of who makes the cover. Good luck. Judd Lasiter

Either way is fine JLaw. A good direction may be to contact Service and have them front it for your conversation with Deans.

I have a 07 Puma with a Deans cover and i just tried the motor cover. It would not zip up. I think it is to small is the 250 cowling bigger than the 225? if so maybe i got one for a 225 insted of one for a 250

1BigBite, The covers are tight and have to be properly aligned to zip. We cant see an error that far off there as all 200 to 250 engine fowls are the same. Perhaps a different brand cover was supplied.
