2012 cougar puma Eyra top end speeds

Does anyone know how the cougar puma and Eyra compare on top end speeds. Im wondering if there is any significant differences. Puma being the heaviest the Eyra is the lightest and the cougar is about in the middle.

Not significantly differiant. The Cougar and Puma have the same hull so no differiance. From what I hear the Eyra might be a tad faster then them all.

It just depends on the different setups, your engine, load and propeller choice. The Eyra does have the mosr potential, though not in major increments.

I know its not the big wheel prop to post a special number but finally Ill be getting out this weekend to spin my just arrived 27 fury on my Eyra/250SHO. My goal is to get up to 6100 plus rpms. If I do that I am hoping to be 82.5-83 mph. I figure Ill have to be around 1.5″ below pad. Not worried about WPSI since I have run 1″ below pad with no WPSI issues in the past. To be continued.

My 2012 Puma FTD / 250 Merc Pro XS did 79.0 last Sunday morning in a tournament with 26 gallons of fuel, 2 people (450 lbs), and 2 loads of tackle. Will do 82 no problem with 1 person in the boat and cooler weather. Spinning a 27 Fury 5900 rpms. Ill take it a step further than BCB……..you need to know how to drive to get the last .5 mph out of one. Therefore, to answer you question specifically………..no there is not much difference between any of them and yes the Eyra has the most potential, but its potential only.

So from what I am reading is it correct that the Puma, Cougar, and Eyra will all do over 80 mph with one person in them?

With a 250, setup well, and driven right, yes.

All I can vouch for is a Puma FTD with a Merc ProXs 250 can do it (82.1 GPS, 2 people). So I know there are Cougar FTDs out there that can break 80. And by faith if those hulls can do it, an Eyra can.

no not all are going to do over 80! driving ability, water conditions, prop, engine, altitude, etc. etc. some people think they have to put 40 rods and reels, 500 lbs of worms, and 500 lbs of lead weights, and 500 lbs of crankbaits in their boat too. that one sure isnt going to do 80.
