Oil Leak

I have a 1993 Mariner 200 EFI. I have oil leaking out of the vent fitting just under the oil tank on the motor. So the main hose runs for the main oil tank to the oil tank on the motor and on that hose just under the oil tank on the motor is a fitting with a vent hole and the oil is leaking from there. Is this fitting bad? Thanks Bassdeer

There is not a crank case hole that allows oil to the block there. We are not sure what you are seeing there.

Its a fitting on the hose. In the picture its the fitting in the circle. Its on the hose that runs from the oil tank in the boat to the oil tank on top of the motor. (Its the third fitting (C) is a vent and does not get connected)Last edited by Bassdeer on June 30th, 2011, 10:45 am, edited 1 time in total.

Crankcase vent for over pressure. That indicates the vent it leaking on back pressure. We would inquire with a dealership. The oil tank works on pressure from the engine block to drive oil to the upper reservoir on the engine. No pumps, just pressure. BCB
