this response was posted by Don several weeks ago on the 3L merc board on BBCBobJust got the word: This is a newly-designed “Gen-2” Torquemaster Gearcase (released in early January, 2013). To avoid confusion… well call it the “Wingmaster”.Features Verado internals, improved LIFT, and is designed to be run higher than the original Torquemaster model. Side water inlets should not require any blockoffs/modifications.Strut area above the propeller also features torque-canceling technology.Currently, it DOES NOT BACKFIT due to changes in the relief mechanism of the trim system on models that utilize this gearcase.Be sure to let us know how it does…. early reports indicate it will be a little faster than the previous Torquemaster Model, and will provide improved lift characteristics.
