this response was posted by Don several weeks ago on the 3L merc board on BBCBobJust got the word: This is a newly-designed “Gen-2” Torquemaster Gearcase (released in early January, 2013). To avoid confusion… well call it the “Wingmaster”.Features Verado internals, improved LIFT, and is designed to be run higher than the original Torquemaster model. Side water inlets should not require any blockoffs/modifications.Strut area above the propeller also features torque-canceling technology.Currently, it DOES NOT BACKFIT due to changes in the relief mechanism of the trim system on models that utilize this gearcase.Be sure to let us know how it does…. early reports indicate it will be a little faster than the previous Torquemaster Model, and will provide improved lift characteristics. I have it on my cougar ftd an I have been pleased with the performance . I expected a fall from the 2011 ftd that had a 3 battery setup , an no poles. I went to 4 batteries, 8 blade , an hydro plate. Havent run it that much yet but it will push the rev limiter full of gas an 2 folks with the 26 fury. ( w/ nearly 30 psi ) Small lake with ton of turns or it would eat the limiter. Got a 27 fury on way for cold weather. I really didnt notice a differance in lift, may have cornered a little better, wing causes an side spray at some speeds that is fast to catch your eye. All bass cats run like hell an are easy to drive so it makes it hard to tell.
