Thinking about posting this sign in my boat: PLEASE DONT STEP ON MY SEATS!They just dont get it. Now I have a rip starting.I guess my sense of humor gets distorted through the interweb. That (maybe not so) obviously wasnt directed towards any basscat owners, was just venting and hoping some of you other owners could relate. I wouldnt want you to step on my seats no matter how much you weigh. Stepping on seats damages them quickly.
Not that I would, but probably not too many of us are close enough to be a co-angler in your boat. I think most of show respect in anothers boat. Its all good………..I understand. All cool! No Smoking!Respect My Crap!Clean up your mess! All good signs you might want to add! Thats what im talking about!!Sorry Jignpig, it didnt come out right with my original post, didnt mean to offend you dude.
If you are going to dip or chew, spit in a bottle !
People indicate the desire to go fishing with me. The first thing I let them know: there are rules in my boat. These are just 2 of the rules no smoking, alcohol, and everyone who fishs helps load and clean the boat when were done. All too often, they think theyre on a chauffeured pleasure cruise and their mere presence should be enough for my expenses, labor, cleaning and hauling. As you can see on my passenger side console, I had two decals made “no smoking” “no alcohol.” But after hearing all the rules, most people chose not to fish me. The ones who do are excellent.( Best of luck)
Ok guess this goes both ways. If youre an angler, Ill not step on your seats if youll :1) Not point the boat into a twenty five mph wind and then spit tobacco juice over the side, and directly into my face every few seconds.2) Not run to the back of the boat to cast on a huge blow up on my frog while Im frantically reeling to make another cast – and promptly catch a 5 pounder. And my only bite of the entire day.3) Refuse to allow any lure retrieval all day – “just cut it Im not wasting time on hang ups”4) Refuse to net my fish, or let me use the net at all – “Its a little one just lift it in” (same guy as #3)5) Tell me were punching and flipping all day when we meet the night before, then show up and throw cranks and spinner baits the entire day – “I didnt want to tell you what we were really doing because I didnt want anyone to know where my fish are”. 6) When I finally catch one 8 plus, not *#@+% in weigh in line that your co-angler messed up your sack, despite the fact that you made 5 casts into the top before I got to fish it.Ive had all of this occur as an FLW co-angler, among many others. However, I will say, that most of my pairings have been with really great guys who were a pure pleasure to fish with, and from whom I learned a tremendous amount. And for the record, I never step on a seat!
blakes thats great you have your rules, But again my boat my rules and if the people who are fishing with me dont like it They need to go buy there own boat and then they can make there rules. Happy Fishing
