You can loosen the starboard bolts and remove the two port bolts, then pivot the engine back for access. Then you should have a straighter shot on the cables for removal and reinsertion.Also before you install those new cables, hang them and allow some light gear lubricant to slip its way down into the cable jacket. It will extend the life of those cables for many, many years. This is not something the factory does and really can justify doing, nor do the steering manufacturers like this at the OEM level.
