On my 2012 PII, I could leave the boxes open and after 10 mins or so the compartment lights would shut off. On my new Caracal, the lights flash after 10 mins or so but dont turn off Are these on timers and will they shut off automatically?
I dont necessarily think these are meant to be timers, but really reminders. Automatic shut off or flashing after a period of time will let you know the master power switch is “off”. The “flashing” is likely programmed into the security system which will impulse the alarm system to sound.
I wired my new LED livewell lights into the rear deck lights. when the main power switch shuts off then the battery compartment lights go out (after 5-10 min) but the LED lights will continuously flash unless I unplug them.

Thought I read where you tyed into the rear compartment light wire and moved are added another switch. Wonder why livewell light remain flashing? 2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Thanks guys. Im just wondering if the box lights will shut off and not be flashing after some period of time or will they just continue flashing? I usually open all the compartment doors when trying to dry the boat out. If the box lights never shut off I can always just shut off the Buss breaker, but I did not have to do that with my 2012 PII.
Hmm…On my 09 CougarFTD, the lights will go off after maybe 10 minutes, I never timed them. I have LEDs wired into the circuit and they go off as well, no flashing. But then, my boat is old, so the wiring has probably changed since then.
I turn off the master switch but the LEDs r the only ones that flash. I guess the livewell lights has been wired into the lights under the seats and the small compartments behind the seats because all of the other lights work except these. the old amber livewell lights had seen better days and I wired them into the same wires but it had nothing so I found the hot wire to the battery bay and tapped into the loom. I dont know how to post a picture or video but I would to better explain
