I installed a 8″ Detwiler hydraulic jack today with the help of Bowden Marine and ran the boat afterwards. Results are:2008 Bass Cat Puma2008 Evinrude E-tec 225 HOProp = 26 Fury (un-worked)Load = heavy load (1/2 of BPS)Fuel = 1/2 tankLive well and cooler emptyWater temp = 75+-Air temp = 75+-Water press at WOT = 21 psigMax speed = 76.0 mph (gps)Lake condition = slight chop (wind less than 10 mph)RPMs at WOT = 6000+ (not quite hitting limiter)Great hole shotFinal prop shaft setting = 3 1/8″ below padNow my question is this: Do I get this prop worked or find a 27 pitch to get my rpms more in line with where they should be? Any advice or help is appreciated.
Your numbers crunch to 12% slip using prop slip calculator. Not bad… try lowering motor a bit and get new numbers. I am not an expert but give it a try and see if rpms drop and speed increases.Good Luck
Those numbers are below 12%. We dont know what calculator you used, though on manual the number is much better. The manual number is about 7% for max performance here, which goes right along with the 8% we usually use for the calculation.
