Dual console debate

As I count down the days until I leave this desert and get to Bowden marine to pick up my new PII I cant stop debating on ordering the dual console. I loved the extra space of the single console in my Classic but my passengers didnt care for chilly rides at 65+ in late fall. William and I talked about just adding to the total deal but I was undecided and didnt want to order it and then not like it. I grew up in a dual console and as a kid/young teen I loved sitting behind the console or under it during less than ideal conditions. I can also remember my dad complaing some about have the dual but he specifically looked for a dual, back then you couldnt add one later.Ill be alone about 60% of the time, and will have my 12yo son most of the other time. I would like to hear from those that bought the dual and how you like it and from the ones that bought a single and later added the dual.Does it really take up that much more room?

I ordered a removeable console in my Puma. When its hot, it just takes a few minutes to remove it at the house. It was 200 or 300 extra to have it removeable but I like having the option

Yep, go for the removable option. SC will give you more room, but a DC will make your co-angler happier.

The “quick” remove console isnt available on the P-II. If you do order the console itll be permanent and something you wont to put in and out based on your day to day needs.

Get your passenger a full face helmet or helmet of some sort. My partner doesnt go anywhere without one winter or summer….GeorgeGeorge

On my Eyra I prefer the dual. On anything shorter, the single leaves a lot more room. BUT: you have a 12 year old. How much he enjoys fishing will in part be determined by just how cold and miserable you get him. If you live anywhere but the deep south, hell be glad you bought it. Also, if you use a cover, it makes it fit a lot better. I agree the best of both worlds is the removable console but unfortunately not an option here.

Like you I fish alone a lot, however I take my kids as much as I can. With that being said my kids would not come nearly as often if I didnt have the dual console. On my PIV, I lose some room that would be nice when Im alone, but the benefits of my kids being comfortable and wanting to be on the boat far outweighs the benefits of just a little more room. If removable isnt an option get the next a console for your kid.- Chaz
