My poles hold great in 7’ of water. After that it is hit or miss. The bottom contour makes a big difference too. If you are working parallel to a steep bank in 6’ and you want to deploy them, the one pole may stick and the other will not. A lot is going to depend on the lakes you fish. In north GA mountain lakes, they are almost useless but southern GA or Alabama lakes they are invaluable. Two things that help make them hold are making sure the PPs are set up properly for speed of deployment and downforce. I added a stainless bullet point to the blunt spike and they definitely hold a little better now.Last edited by himmelrr on April 20th, 2018, 3:42 pm, edited 1 time in total.
