For warranty work on a thru hull tranducer do I take the boat to a “cat” dealer, or do i have to go to a humminbird distributor? The sonar started acting wierd a high speed and now all I get is a screen that is red and orange in any sonar mode. The GPS works fine.
Ultimately, it will have to go through Humminbird. Humminbird dealers are not authorized to do warranty work, and a transducer is not a “boat” problem. Does function return after you stop ?You will lose sonar at speed with almost any hull, puck, or transducer. Air under the hull and speed are too much for function over minimal pad speed. If its working while fishing, and idling its not uncommon.
It does not function at all now. It started first a top end and slowly progressed to nothing. It locks on at 4 or 5. sometimes the number will be ok but the screen is still all red similar to the noise you see as surface clutter sometimes. I am by no means very good with electrronics and may just have the settings wrong as far as the picture goes.thanks to the replies.
