Topic: Margay transom saver

So I think I left my transom saver on the side of the boat ramp or something…. I swear I remember putting it in my truck, but its not there. Guess Im buying a new one, what length do I need? Its a 2012 with a 115 proXS on it, manual jack plate.

More particular Im looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Attwood-Heavy-Tra … nsom+saver it has 3 different lengths, Im hope the 32/44 inch one would work (its the cheapest), but want to make sure its not too long (I never measure my old one, but 28″ seems a bit closer to what I would have guessed it was).

I have no idea what size to tell you to get, sorry. I would suggest, however, to tilt your engine up to about where you would like to have it while towing. Then measure from the roller on the back trailer frame member, to the engine. Wouldnt that tell you how much distance you have and enable you to know what length transom saver to buy? If all you can buy are too long, you can cut them off to fit.

Just measured the one I have on my Margay. It is 35″ tip to tip, and 32″ from the tip that goes to the motor end to the bottom of the cup that sets on the roller. The motor is a 150 instead of a 115 though. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers guys. I went with the 32/44, if needed Ill just trim it down.
