http://www.foxnews.com/us…ica-oil-drilling-denial/Did anyone notice Obama’s first cabinet appointment was Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu. Better buy a bicycle.BCB it looks like small boats are in our future.
How long before they begin the impeachment process ? Im sick of the lying, stealing, and degrading of the U.S.A.. Someone needs to step up and lay the guantlet ! And all parties need to understand, were done playing the “Washington two-step”……….
Just wait til they pull 40 billion from the oil companies…I agree- wish they didnt have deep tax cuts but it aint hard to see whats going to happen when you take 40 billion from someone that doesnt truly have competition. You say alternative energy? Well coal is too dirty and natural gas too dangerous? And lord knows we cant drill for more because thats too dangerous too right? So what will happen? Oil will go up. And up. As will food. And then folks cant pay their bills and we all pay no matter what we do.Great opportunity at that point for “were here from the government and we are here to help you”.Now I look up and I am a government employee as is everyone in healthcare and now its >50% of us that are completely beholden to the feds.Ballgame.After having a long discussion Thursday with someone that would know the manufacturing world my entire frame of reference has changed.Think the price is going down?Nope. Nada. Nyet. The price of oil is just about everything for those that truly work to MAKE a living for all of us.We need to get the price down. Either make more or make competition quickly.Only way I see is make more. I figure them smart boys in DC know it too but it sure must fit someones plan somewhere for something else.Last edited by clownshoes on April 25th, 2011, 9:47 pm, edited 2 times in total.C.O.D. Not a political position, though thats about $16,326,530 per resident. I think they could somehow work out the details and benefit those in that little village rather than throwing away $4,000,000,000 (4 billion).
The EPA’s appeals board ruled that Shell had not taken into consideration emissions from an ice-breaking vessel when calculating overall greenhouse gas emissions from the project. Environmental groups were thrilled by the ruling.“What the modeling showed was in communities like Kaktovik, Shell’s drilling would increase air pollution levels close to air quality standards,” said Eric Grafe, Earthjustice’s lead attorney on the case. Earthjustice was joined by Center for Biological Diversity and the Alaska Wilderness League in challenging the air permits.Just a note – mobile sources – such as an ICE-BREAKING VESSEL! – are exempt from EPA jurisdiction in this type of thing. Im sure I must be misreading something in the article and the ruling must be based on some NEPA consideration. And yes – for the record – the nice folks at Shell do a great job and are thoughtful about the location of exploration activities. But remember, you only drill for oil WHERE THERE IS ACTUALLY OIL OR AT LEAST YOU THINK IT IS THERE. You dont drill wells where it is convenient.Between this BS and the hydraulic fracturing BS we will all be driving solar powered or Fred Flintstone powered cars and buring cow shemp for heat like they do in India.John
If O gets another term and it keeps going this way my kid will be driving a Bass Cat Kayak.Probably have names like Siamese, Calico, or Tabby.
Hey, We already built a Calico model!
any pics of that calico model? i have to deal with these crybaby politicians everyday up here in DC whether republican or democrat or independant.the stock market runs the country!!!!! i can just go to the POTOMAC river and have fun in my BASSCAT!!
1958 still LOL., Ward, they gotta stop subsidizing them with billions a year before worring about going after the money their robbing us of.
Ill tell you a subsidy that outta go- ethanol. What a false economy.A friend of mine loses 13,000 a friggin month not using the stuff in a small market in south Arkansas between the potential for RIN fines and losses in tax cuts. BTUs are clearly less and the overall environmental effect is a negative. Not to mention folks in the middle east pod about the price of food as a result.Heck you can open a biofuels plant, sell the rins to those beholden to the EPA, not make anything and come out ahead-Simple math Geo in a system based largely on speculation at this point- whats gonna happen when you pull billions from someones spreadsheet and dump it in DC? Youll feel better but it wont help the price of gas for a family that has to budget for gas and food. All that will do is take money from one gorilla and give it to a bigger one. This is a simple battle for power and agenda really. Now spread that 4 billion DIRECTLY to folks that need it? Sure. Aint gonna happen though with either party as far as I can tell.We have got to find a way to make this product cheaper for now.Either pull oil from speculation market or make more.
