I have been considering a couple upgrades on my PII vs getting a bigger boat until I see what happens with the oil/gas industry in the next few months. First I have been looking at gauge upgrades. I think the Nexsyslink systems are awesome but I feel like thats going to be really expensive. So Ive been looking at the Smartcraft tach vs the full MercMonitor. Im mainly wanting digital rpm and hours, mileage is cool but not a big deal to me. I know the MercMonitor will give you a max rpm after a run, will the Smartcraft do the same? Is the full monitor worth the extra cost if Im not linking to other gauges and graphs?Second can a kicker tank system be installed on a PII? Or is this something that has to be installed during the build at the factory? (Im offshore so I cant consult with dealer)Third, how many are running a 26p Fury on a PII year round?
I can only give my opinion on the Smartcraft tach, if you dont have the budget for the full MM package you wont be disappointed with the tac. it doesnt tell you max RPM but digital water pressure, trim are all awesome I really like how it tells you how much fuel you have used its very accurate no more watching the old analog fuel gauge and guessing if you can make it back. Every time I fill up I just reset the fuel used gauge and go. As far as running the 26 Fury year round what works for some guys wont work for others. Weight and placement of gear, weight of driver are all variables as well as a guy in North Dakota could run one all year but a guy in Missouri will likely have to prop down to keep performance in the summer months. Youre going to get answers all over the place about that one.
I was hoping bcb was cue on the tank question.looks like it could be done. Though a battry relocation would be in place2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
As for number one goes had my wife talk to William at Bowdens. Went with the full MercMonitor. Should be on the boat by the time I get home next week.I agree Redngoo
I have the monitor in my speedo hole though not the fancy smancy one. I also just replaced my beede analog rpm gauge with the new mercury analog gauge. And comparing the monitor to the rpm gauge they are really close to the same. Youll love the monitor. I monitor my water temp CLOSE!. now that I plugged my low water pick up my mind is at alot of ease. At least I dnt have to worry about any pencils making it to the stats.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Yes, relocating the battery trays and oil most likely will be required. It can be done after production and we prefer the old holes be fiberglassed over to seal well.
My buddy did his p4 . Never used his belly tank. Definitly made a difference in performance of the boat. Im sure your p2 is like mine. Runs pretty flat. Though I did get a little impovement with some prop work2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Redngoo- Actually my boat starts lifting really well around 57-60. Anything under that and it runs pretty flat, or if Im toting a heavy load. Im usually only medium loaded, I just dont have that much tackle.
Yea I dont carry much tackle either. Crappie tackle not that heavy. With the prop work Ronnie performed mine lifts a little sooner than that. Although I always carry a full load of fuel. Today I aired her out a little run the best I got out of her. Overall I am happy with the performance.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
