On the 2000 cougar with electronic control panel are there any alarms that will sound from it for malfunctions such as a fault or low on gas. I had a constant alarm which is overheat or oil pump quit but had water at pee hole and engine smoke. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
Please come back and let everyone here know what they find, be that sensor fault or a real issue. Those here can learn greatly through your issue and it could keep someone from ignoring that pesky beeper.
I contacted Mercury and told them what I had and they said it was the temp. sensor and Im now waiting for part . Will let you know outcome. Anyone who ignores those warning beeps especially a constant one is asking for trouble. I had a earlier alarm which told me my oil tank on engine was not filling so I listen very carefully now.
