I was making a 6.5 hour drive home from PA today and at a rest stop someone pointed out that my brake/turn signals werent working. Every other light on the trailer (including the back up lights that look to be jumpered off of the brake lights) are working, but no brake/turn signal light. I popped one out and it looked like the bulb was burned out, but the other side looks ok (through the plastic of course). They seem to be sealed…am I right that just the bulbs cant be replaced, but the whole light needs to be changed out?Might it be something else? If I were sure they were just burned out, Id bite the bullet and upgrade to the leds, but I dont want to drop $60 and not fix the problem…Its for a 2011 Sabre Advantage Elite single axle.2011 Sabre FTD w/ Mercury 150 Pro XS, Power Pole Sportsman 2s, Humminbird 898 w/ 360 and 858 at bow, 898 at ConsoleFor lots of BCB love, follow me on instagram: @professorbeard
What tow vehicle? My GMC Sierra has fuses for the trailer lighting circuit that have blown. Do you have a test light or multi-meter to see if there is power at the truck plug?
Sorry for your issue… glad its not mine… Ive had that with my camper. I agree with GL1, check your fuses first. The circuit that your brakes lights work are the same that the cruise control “brake tap off” works, but the L/R turn signals are normally a different circuit. Also, different wires in your wiring harness. So, my guess you have “multiple” issues. If you find youve got a blown fuse, then likely a “ground” issue. And, thats the one thats really a lot of “fun” to trace down. And, yes, they are sealed and therefore you buy the whole unit new. I am on my second set on my 2010 Sabre FTD… when these “go”, Im going with the leds… much brighter. Best of luck.

Check all the wires all over the trailer for loose connections. I was having issue and found 4 broken connections that fixed my issues.
Get a 12V battery, the one off the lawn mower will work. Using a jumper wire, ground the battery to the frame, then using a jumper on the positive side, connect to the yellow (left brake light should burn), then to the green (right brake light to should burn). This will tell you if the brake/turn lights on the trailer are working and if you need to check the trailer more, or go to the tow vehicle. BTW, brown is for running lights and the blue on the end is the backups. In most cases, the white ground isnt connected — the reason why you ground at the trailer frame in a good, non dirty, non painted area.JohnJones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird
Ill give that a try today. One side is definitely burned out as I can see the broken filament. I was able to get the port side working, but I believe I may have a bad connection somewhere as I could get it to work, then Id open the truck door and itd go out, then Id tap the light and itd come back on. Boy, this is going to be fun…Truck fuses are good, Im 98% sure its in the trailer.2011 Sabre FTD w/ Mercury 150 Pro XS, Power Pole Sportsman 2s, Humminbird 898 w/ 360 and 858 at bow, 898 at ConsoleFor lots of BCB love, follow me on instagram: @professorbeard
Well, ended up changing both tail lights and that seems to have solved the issue. I think that one burned out and the other was on its last leg, which is why it would work and then shut off…2011 Sabre FTD w/ Mercury 150 Pro XS, Power Pole Sportsman 2s, Humminbird 898 w/ 360 and 858 at bow, 898 at ConsoleFor lots of BCB love, follow me on instagram: @professorbeard
