I was wondering how to get a little more lift out of my 04 Cougar FTD with a 225 Verado. Even when running the boat with a light load i still dont seem to be getting the lift as others i see. I know the verado is heavy but i think i could get a little more out of it. Currently at WOT i am running 65 with 2 people and the lighter load. I am running a 24 Bravo. I would think more lift would pick up a little more speed? Could i raise or lower my motor a little to see a difference? I could be wrong about the lift equating to speed but i was just needing some opinions.Thanks Jared

The Verado has a ton of trim and offset. The Bravo was a selection then, though the Fury was not available. We think a fury would help some, though some have run others. We would try the 24 Fury first. Apparently your expecting lift to gain speed, and BCB hulls run with less lift than competitive boats. Bump trim up and control speeds with the trim more than the throttle.

I actually have a 24 Fury but i only ran it for a few days. It seemed to run more RPMs at less speed and it kind of scared me so I went back to the Bravo. Didnt want to blow my engine.

You may have to lower your motor on the jackplate. Im saying this not knowing where your engine is set so I could be wrong, but Furys like running a little deeper than other props.

RPM range max is 6400 on the Verado we believe.
