Topic: How to find / remove front thru hull transducer?

Hi guys, There was a thur hull transducer installed in my PIV for the FRONT unit when I bought it. I need to remove this transducer now. Where is it located and how can I get to it to remove it? Thanks Chuck

On a P4, there is no way to service that component. It is the only unservicable part in a Bass Cat. You must either put a new one in the hull, through the rear drain hole. And that has to have a mortising bit cut through the stringer, or go to a trolling motor mount if you have trouble. Sorry, though you want the truth! The newer model hulls have no front access. BCB

Are all factory installed bow units on all BassCat models this way, with the transducer mounted inside the front of the hull rather than on the trolling motor?

Thanks BCB. No problem. I had bought a TM transducer a couple years ago in order to have temp, but didnt mess with trying to remove the thru hull at that time. Now I have new units and was going to remove it. Im a glass half full kinda guy. So I kind forsee this as a “backup” if I ever knock the TD off my TM while fishing!

That is why we suggest that folks go ahead and put one in the hull when they order a new boat and want the transducer ont he trolling motor. BCB
