I have a 93 Pantera II single axle trailer. It currently has 14″ wheels. Cooper Cobra 225/70/R14. The inside edge appears to rub on the fender, so I believe I need to go thinner tire like 215 or 205. The rubbing is at the top of the sidewall real near where the tread meets the sidewall. It is slightly wearing down a small strip about 1/2″ thick around the out edge of the sidewall.. I just curious as to what the stock size is? I need to replace my tires, and want to get the right size. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

It should be labeled on the serial number tag inside the frame. There are differences across the product line for various reasons.

I would check as BC said and also check your spring/shackles and bolts. Mine had “wallowed out” the bushings and the tire wear was from the inside part of the tire. Just a thought….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

I had the same problem on a trailer I had . — I put a 2 inch longer shackle on the rear spring hanger …….. Problem solved . — Only raised the trailer about an inch , but no more tire rub . — Hoss

Longer shackles will resolve this, though odds are the springs are not tensioned any longer and need replacing. The bushings could be worn also, though we suspect the springs are shot. BCB

Any idea what size and weight springs I need? Single axle 1993 Pantera II. New tires are in the mail so want to get the right springs to keep from doing the same thing to the new tires. Thanks!

We would purchase the springs from BCB as they have an ample supply of the Made In The USA springs which are no longer produced. The shipped the dies and tooling to China.
