I have an HDS-8 on the bow and an HDS-5 and 7 at the console. I can select the bilge mounted 2D transducer, the bow mounted 2D transducers (front of pad in hull), or the jackplate mounted LSS-2 transducer on any of the units. Bilge 2D is connected to the console HDS-7, bow 2D is connected to the bow HDS-8, I select which one I want on the in-dash 5. As GRRR884 stated, in your case you just have to connect the new bow HDS-7 via Ethernet to the SS box and youre good to go.All my HDS units are connected via Ethernet to the Structure Scan box so they can share. I believe you have to select “Network Sonar” in the Settings menu to see all available transducers to select from. Ill check when I hit the water this week and report back.
