Just got a good deal on Lowrance X28 and am going to put it up front to replace my X125. Where are most of you installing the gps module ? I have an X17 in console with the module mounted at the rear right corner. I was going to mount my new module at the rear left corner or up front. I have also seen the bracket that attaches to a ram mount for the gps but have heard mixed reviews about that set up. I have a 2006 Puma. Tony
Up front would be my first choice. It will be more accurate when you mark waypoints than with the puck twenty feet behind you John Helms Hot Springs, ARJohn Helms Hot Springs, AR
Agree with silver bullet and scubaman…there is room on the bow to put the puck. You can mount it on the other side of the troller or I have seen where some have put it on the surface that BCB intended the flashers to be mounted over by the recess. Either seems to work but I actually prefer it on the outside of the trolling motor. Judd Lasiter
This is the best (and really about the only) pic I can find showing the GPS puck location.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
