Not sure if that is the actual part name but the pulley that puts tension on the belt of my brand new 2016 ProXs 175 decided it didnt like life and canned out on me. The belt just slips you can pull it off by hand. Pulley has no tension whatsoever. The metal spring is flopping around inside the housing. I got ahold of the dealer who rigged the new engine and he has parts in stock, headed in the AM to get it fixed. I had to run it 6 miles back up river the tensioner wasnt completely shot at that point at least Im assuming, because I was showing 14 volts still on my smartcraft gauge no codes or alarms. When I came off plane the engine died and was hard to start once started didnt want to idle I had to give it throttle to keep it running. I did a quick check of gauges and jumped back on plane and babied it back up river at 3500 rpm. It was a nasty sound and the engine didnt want to idle but it got on plane as normal and seemed to run ok but is there anything I couldve done running it like that? The dealer said it just ran rich and he will replace the pulley itself, the tensioner and check some pin that holds it and replace if needed replace it. Also putting a new belt on and new spark plugs. All sounds through and I trust him he has always treated me right. So I guess just a double check with you guys… Im new to Optis but this scared me my 2 month old 12.2 hr. Engine had a mechanical failure… down river. I never went down river with my old motor i didnt trust it. I bought this new one so I could have the confidence to go where I wanted without being paranoid. Now Im paranoid again. Should I be? Anyone hear of this before is it a problem? Kind of freaked me out he has parts in stock to repair this. Thanks
