During the summer I noticed a little fog in my smart craft guages, but it cleared up pretty fast, so I didnt think much about it. A couple of days ago it warmed up a little so I went fishing, and noticed fog again and upon closer inspection saw a small crack on the face of each guage. I dont know how this could have happened. The guages havent been hit or abused. Has anyone else had this problem. Is it possible this could be covered under warranty. Are the guages covered as long as the motor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ive had two boats now with the Smartcraft gauges. Both of them would develop that “fog” your talking about. It seems to go away pretty quickly though. I know theres no cracks in the glass on mine, so maybe its just the “nature of the beast.” Mine had it yesterday and it was 60 degrees, but it evaporated in a few minutes once on the water for a while.

The gauges would be under a standard engine warranty of 3 years or 2 years, depending on your engine. If the lenses are cracked, then they could warranty the gauges. Also they have double (dual) lenses. BCB

Thanks for the info. The motor is an 06, it has extended warranty till 2011. Does the extended warranty cover the guages too, or they just covered under the standard engine warranty. Thanks

Gauges are not in the extended, just listed engine items.
