Anyone tried out the 26 Fury prop with this combo?

on a cougar not a puma all the differeance in mid range an some hole shot which makes top end sound and feel better. also the pll had higher fuel economy and punch at mid range if you had a hyd jack it did let you raise it a little more but not necessary.

I have a 2004 Sabre with a 2004 XR-6, 24 pitch Fury on a 6″ Slidemaster. It is set at 3.5 inches below pad and I am turning 5800 rpms (66.5 MPH GPS) with one person and a full tank of gas. Put two people, full tank, full livewell, and tournament gear in it and I drop to 63 mph. I think that I could get more out of it but I have settled on a great hole shot and ok performance with a partner and full gear. With a 23 Tempest; I was about 2-3 mph slower in all aspects, but I had a neck breaking holeshot. ElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud

some people are getting a little carried away we top end, it is and should always be about over all performance of the boat , 18ft – 20ft. we you, us are the back bone of Bass Cat in the field. You should have your boat at its best over all performance at all times.

There is a line between overall performance and top end only that you dont want to compromise. EK has made a good point, and you have all heard our position before. Dont forget that the Pantera Classic models for Bass & Walleye were set up for user friendly operation. You will see more on a Cougar FTD later this year that is an overall rig as well. We should have good hole shots, top end and mid range with that one. The fuel mileage will be impressive we feel also. Take all these factors into consideration when you set your rig up. BCB

latest cougar deliverd 50 gals of fuel, more fishing gear than any man needs dual console two riders and a fury 26 pitch prop. Any guess? 92 to 95 degrees water temp 85. jack plate set at Bass Cat spec. no plugs in prop. 5 second hole shot, 1 mississipps 2 mississipps you get it. Top speed …….. 77mph and some changes. Not bad We did not even run the trophy, more question about the fury. oh fixed jack plate. hope this will help.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know when Mercury plans to have a 4-blade version utilizing the new material, i.e. a Trophy replacement?
