Going to install my new HB 797 (on console of my P3) this weekend and trying to decide how to connect to power source. Tech help said hook it to a switched accessory circuit using an in-line 3 amp fuse. My first thought is to splice into the small acc switch box under the right side of the console (its got a 10 amp breaker with a small light and a power socket) using of course a 3 amp in-line fuse. Would this be OK? BTW, I was surprised to see how many open-ended extra wires there were dangling under the console (like 10 or 12 unsed ones). Is because I have the smart craft gages which use their own wiring harnesses? thanks in advance.
