Are passenger tires still recommended for BC trailers?

the only thing different would be the load rating, and the actual plies the tires are, all the older trailers had firestone passenger tires, and I believe the new ones do too, different brand though, just check the PSI on each tire cold, and keep them inflated correctly and your good to go. P.S. trailer tires are pricey as well, my buddies and my brother run goodyear trailer tires on their Rangers and they are almost 180 a tire, ouch.

I am looking at that now also, seeing I lost a tire, (keep checking those lug nuts) and replaced all my rims with the Ultras as the Boss 307 20s are discontinued. I also understand that the Goodyear Marathon trailer tires are only rated for 65 MPH, unless you over inflate them and the boat does not ride as well? BCB, what is your opinion on using an LT tire. A light truck tire I believe has a bit stiffer side wall and a higher load rating, etc. But, believe the smallest size you can get would be a 225/75 which would make it an 1″ taller. Clearance issues?Sorry for all the questions, want the best feet on the floor for the boat.

well i dont know how it is in the usa, thinks might be diffrent from state to state, bun in canada if you get pulled over by the d.o.t , the (deparment of transportation) adn you dont have a ST rated tire, your in for a big fine, cant run a car tire on a trailer, but like i said dont know how the usa works

Well BCB may be correct about the tires being less expensive for them for GY Maratons, I just know here in STL, MO retail on them is high, and I dont disagree with BCB, the coopers are probably a much nicer tire, Ive never been impressed with Goodyear, had them on many different vehicles, and always wore funny or wore out of the tread life very quickly.
