Livewell Lid Rivets

I had the rivets pull out of my livewell lid last week at Toledo Bend. What type and size should I use to replace the ones pulled out? Aluminum or stainless steel? Or should i go back with some small SS bolts w/ nylon locking nuts? Thanks, Ronnie

Those are a 3/16″ Avdel rivet, though what year model is this and model? The lids have other attachments in recent years. BCB

Oh heck, sorry about that. Its an 02 Cougar with 2 hinges, rectangular lid. I probably need to tighten the locking mechanism a bit also. Thank you for the reply, BCBs Ronnie

A 2002 could be riveted. The rivets would shear if they were not held tight when popped as the rivet compressed above the carpet and cut itself off. Obviously this one held a while, and it could have just been use. Though not on our livewells though. BCB
