Im going to Table Rock for a week and will be traveling from central Alabama to Branson, MO with my boat (about 10 hours) the week of Thanksgivig. I have a Sunbrella cover and was wondering if yall travel long distances covered or uncovered? Any advantages/disadvantages please advise. BTW if anyone has any good tips/advice/help/etc. that would help me catch a couple smallies I would appreciate it (I have never caught one and hoping to change this on Table Rock). Thanks
Ive towed with an Aurora Sunbrella cover several times of distances over 500 miles. No issues period! Why would you do it………..inside the boat stays clean (no dust), stays dry, adds security.
I never travel with the cover on because the possibility of scuffing the gelcoat exists. Although the likelihood of it happening is less with the top of the line Sunbrella as compared to the more inexpensive fabrics, it still can happen. I dont chance it. Some put saran wrap on before travelling with their cover to try to prevent scuffing.
I have made numerous trips from Fort Worth, TX to Clinton, MO 9.5 hours @ 75+ speeds with the top of the line Sunbrella cover on my 2013 Eyra with zero issues. If you have inclement weather it sure saves the inside of the boat from all of the road nasty.BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Only in the worst slushy snow and rain drenched roads with a chip salt mix would any chafing occur with the new Sunbrella Supreme cover. Even then the boat would probably experience less damage towing with the new cover. of course the cover would need some cleaning after that trip. Salt is extremely abrasive and cuts right into gelcoat.
Im assuming the support poles should be removed before towing right? Thank yall soo much for your advice.
Leave the poles to prevent flapping. Nothing is done different from storing to trailering a cover.

Works great and no scuffing. The Sunbrella strapless is the bomb.
Try hookedonbass.com. Local guide that I have been out with. Pete is out on the water at least 200 days a year here. If you are staying in Branson, start for your smallmouth quest by Moonshine beach. Great Corps of Engineers launch, only problem is this time of the year the bathrooms are locked. Go to the penn. to the left immediately after launching the boat and start on it by throwing either wiggle warts, white spinner baits or alabama rig towards the shore. Keep the boat in at least 20 feet of water. Front of the dam is also a good starting point as well. Fishing has been tough here as of late but should be picking up pretty fast. And if you get bored on Table Rock, Tanneycomo, and Bull Shoals are right there. And if you really want to go on a road trip, drive down to the bass cat factory. Been there twice and everyone is great.
