Will the new Helix 12 fit in console of new Caracal? Also, will any of the Helixs models fit in dash at lower right side of console of Caracal? Thanks in advance Mike.

Someone will post shortly that can confirm, but Im almost positive that the Helix 9, 10, & 12 will not fit flush in a Bass Cat console in the premium line. A external mount such as Sherms or Precision Sonar is always an option, too…

I am certain a 12 will not fit, and the 9 and 10, which are the same case size, will also require a sherm`s or precision mount as posted about. I am just curious what Bass Cat will decide to do for factory installs. I`m planning on a 10 but my boat is wrapped up for the winter so I haven`t been able to mock anything up.

We had one of the original 12 Helix units in this week to fit. They are too massive to build a dash around.

I put my Helix 10 on the front of my new Cougar – I spend more time up there anyway.

I decided against the Helix units when rigging mine last month for a couple reasons:Not only was my dash pre-cut for the 800 & 900 series humminbird, I wanted to see how the Helix line holds up to moisture and vibration after a year or so. The legacy units are proven to be very durable and still give a great service, far surpassing what many of us are capable of getting out of them, or ever needing from them. I ended up settling on a 999SI at the console and 959DI at the bow. I also like being able to fit the bow unit in the recessed area, eliminating the need for an extra mount, as well as keeping it low and out of the way of my un-coordinated size 13s.If they hold up, and I still want to upgrade, I would definitely consider a Helix with chirp for the bow. To me, that is the only left to be desired by Humminbird, sonar that is competitive with some of the other brands.

The Core product of the 900 and 800 series will be available through 2016 model year. We are not sure if they continue our access into the next year model at this time.
