Topic: Fishing on ledges in lakes, not river lakes…

I have been fishing a lot at Lake of the Ozarks in couple years and I wonder whether its good to fish on ledges there in summertime. I am talking about the lake, not the “river lake” as Barkley or Kentucky lake. I have been stuided the lake map (LOZ) and found some possible ledges but I dont know they will work or not. Have you ever experience like this in the past at any lake simialr to Lake of the Ozarks or Truman Lake? Thanks.

There are several good ledges between the Glaize and Gravois on the main channel of LOZ. Most of the ledges are along bluff lines and are only 2-3 ft. wide. They may stair step down quite a way. They are not the large wide ledges like you find on a river system. I fish mostly between the 6-16 mm. these days. The types of ledges you find in that area are found throughout the length of the lake. A few of the ledges have large feeding flats adjacent to the ledges with the flats dropping into the main channel. These are the sweet spots to look for. Bass will push main channel shad schools onto the flat and feed heavily before returning to deeper water. One of the best ledge and flat systems is directly across the lake from the Lodge of Four Seasons. Im at the 13 mm. If you see a white/blue/white Puma with a white bolt, feel free to stop and Ill show you a few ledges.
